After three months of competition, the National Air Rifle League Champions have been crowned. In the Sporter League, Fontana MCJROTC wins after defeating Pascagoula NJROTC in the championship game. In the Precision League, Lafayette Gun Club wins after defeating Everett Sportsman Junior Rifle Club in their championship game.
Sporter Championship Tournament
The Sporter League champion is Fontana MCJROTC, who finished the 2025 season with a perfect 10 - 0 record.
Under the guidance of coach LtCol Denny Meelarp, Fontana MCJROTC
of Fontana, Calif. secured their 10th consecutive win to wrap the year.
Angel Posada led the way for Fontana with a top mark of 591.8,
supported by the efforts of teammates Javier Campos, Rosario Negrete,
and Stephanie Mendoza. Competing in the Champions Division of the Marine
Corps JROTC conference, the team delivered a remarkable string of
victories heading into offseason.
Pascagoula NJROTC, representing Pascagoula, Miss. and coached by Steven Turo, ended a notable four-game win streak despite a strong outing. The squad saw high scores from Kyley Lusby (587.8) and solid performances by Tyresse Vargas, Anthony Harris, and Devon Harris. Pascagoula, competing out of the Navy or Coast Guard JROTC Champions Division, concludes their campaign with a final push that narrowly came up short in the season finale.
Early
in the match, Pascagoula NJROTC established a 6.9-point lead after the
kneeling round and extended that cushion to 28.4 during the prone
stage—often regarded as the most stable position in the three-position
match format. However, Fontana MCJROTC staged a decisive rally in the
standing series, traditionally the most challenging position, closing
the deficit and ultimately securing a 17.5-point victory. While Kyley
Lusby delivered an outstanding individual score for Pascagoula, the
consistent depth of Fontana’s roster pushed them ahead during the
crucial final stage.
Notably, Pascagoula NJROTC also won the
Navy Champions Division title this year, the first time any other team
besides Zion Benton NJROTC has won. Zion Benton won this title the first
9 seasons of the National Air Rifle League. Â
Sporter League MVP
The Sporter League Most Valuable Player award goes to Angel Posada from Fontana MCJROTC. She led her team with an average of 584.9 in the Postseason.
Precision League Championship
The final week of the 2025 National Precision Air Rifle League postseason featured a dramatic conclusion, as Lafayette Gun Club narrowly defeated Everett Sportsman Junior Rifle Club, 2471 to 2469.2. Â
Lafayette Gun Club of Grafton, VA, continued their momentum by finishing the season on a five-match winning streak under coach Jason Stout. Christina Morris posted the top team score at 621.8, closely followed by Kai Labine, Anahad Kohli, and Parker Anderson. The Champions Division squad represented the Junior Rifle Club conference and showcased strong balance across their lineup to clinch the season finale.
Everett Sportsman Junior Rifle Club from Everett, PA—coached by Jim Tegeler—saw its nine-match win streak snapped, but pushed Lafayette to the very end. Karlie Lynn’s score of 622.3 led all shooters in the match, with support from Kinzey Williams, Jolynn Mickle, and John Golden rounding out the scoring four for another strong showing from the Champions Division representatives.
Throughout
the match, Lafayette Gun Club established and protected a narrow lead
from the opening stage onward. They led by 2.4 points after the first 10
shots and managed to incrementally expand that margin, peaking at an
8.0-point advantage midway through. Everett Sportsman gradually chipped
away at the deficit over the next two strings, but the margin remained
just out of reach. The final string saw Everett close the gap even
further as their top marksman, Karlie Lynn, put in a particularly strong
effort, yet Lafayette ultimately secured the win by 1.8 points.
Precision League MVP
The Precision League Most Valuable Player award goes to Christina Morris of Lafayette Gun Club. She led her team with a 619.6 average during the Postseason.
Sporter Invitational Tournament
The Sporter Invitational Tournament title goes also to Lafayette Gun Club after winning the title game against Trigger Time 4-H with a score of 2235.4 to 2226.8. Lafayette ended their season with a total record of 9 - 1.
Coached by Charles Orr and based in Grafton, VA, Lafayette Gun Club relied on a strong effort from Alexandra Orr, who led the squad with a mark of 582.0. Supported by teammates Alleynah Miller, Natalie Tuggle, and Hannah Pryor, Lafayette Gun Club’s impressive victory extended their season-ending win streak to seven. The club wrapped up its campaign undefeated through the final stretch in the Champions Division of the Junior Rifle Club conference.
Trigger Time 4-H Shooting Education Club from Bristow, VA, put up a determined fight. Under the direction of coach Alan Lerch, standout shooter Tanner Ridings posted a 573.4, closely followed by Rebecca Ahrens, Lexi Strand, and Ayden Strand. Their own three-game win streak was halted in this finale, but their strong showing reflected their consistency throughout the Champions Division run.
