Tournaments have long been part of the Scopos digital ecosystem, offering Clubs a powerful way to organize multi‑match events. With the retirement of OrionResults.com and the upcoming release of Orion 3.0, we’ve significantly upgraded Tournament functionality and moved everything to Rezults. Whether you’re running a multi‑day championship or a season‑long league, Tournaments now give you more flexibility, clarity, and control than ever.

What is a Tournament?

A Tournament is a collection of Matches grouped together for scoring, ranking, or season‑tracking purposes. Any Orion for Clubs Account (a “Club”) can create a Tournament, and each Match added to it becomes a Tournament Member.

Unlike Virtual Match Children, Tournament Members generally do not need to share the same Course of Fire. This makes Tournaments ideal for:

• Multi‑day competitions
• League or season aggregates
• Events combining different disciplines
• Programs with diverse match formats

Tournaments are Available on Rezults

All Tournament features now exist exclusively on Rezults. Each Tournament page includes two major sections Tournament Members and Merged Result Lists:

Merged Result Lists

These combine one or more result lists from Tournament Members into a new, unified result list. Merged Result Lists appear directly on the Tournament page and also in its navigation menu for quick access.

A complete list of Matches currently included in the Tournament.

Creating a Tournament

Any Club may create a Tournament from its Club Page in Rezults. To do so:

• You must log in with your Scopos Account.
• You must hold one of the following roles within the Club: Club Admin, Club Manager, or Technical Officer.

Member Policy Options

When creating a Tournament, you’ll choose a member policy—this determines how Matches become Tournament Members. The policy cannot be changed later.

Invite Only

Tournament managers invite Matches by searching for and selecting a Match.

The Match appears as Invited until someone with permission on that Match approves the invitation.

Request to Join

Users request membership by entering their Match ID.

The request appears as Pending Approval until a Tournament manager approves it.

Open Join

Users add their own Match directly from the Tournament page.

The Match joins immediately—no approval required.

Merged Result Lists

Merged Result Lists allow you to combine result lists from Tournament Members in different ways depending on your event structure. Scopos uses these in our Monthly Virtual Matches in different ways, for example 12 month seasonal average or event participation.

Sum Method

Adds together scores from selected result lists. Ideal for multi‑day aggregates or combined‑discipline events.

Options include:

• Count Top Scores — Use only the top N number of scores.
• Include High Score Event — Adds a column listing each participant’s best score.
• Include Average Score Event — Adds a column listing each participant’s average score.

Average Method

Calculates an average score across selected result lists. Useful when consistency matters.

Options include:

• Count Top Scores — Limit the average to the top N scores.
• Required Number of Scores — Minimum scores needed to appear in the list.
• Add High Score Event — Adds each participant’s best score.
• Exclude DNF From Average — Ignores DNF entries.

Reentry Method

Designed for events where athletes shoot multiple attempts of the same Course of Fire—such as qualification rounds or multi‑category attempts.

With this method Tournament Members should share the same match structure. 

Only One Option to Select:

• Event Type — Determines which event level to pull the highest score from (e.g., STAGE for highest position score, EVENT for highest full match score).

Participation Count Method

Highlights participation rather than score. Ideal for diverse events such as Scopos Monthly Virtual Matches or 4‑H programs.

With this method Tournament Members often use different match structures.

Options include:

• Required Number of Scores — Minimum participation needed.
• Sort By Count — Highest number of events first, then Display Name. Alphabetical — Sort by Display Name.
