Your role on our team:
We’re hiring a multi-role technician to help jump start our new customers and to give them the best quality products.
As a small business each of our employees have to wear multiple hats. Your role on our team will be no different. Your primary role will be traveling to customers and either setting up their new Athena range or performing maintenance visits on their existing equipment. Each of these visits take 1 to 3 days, depending on range size, plus travel days on either end. You’ll work with the club’s coach and IT department to set up their Athena equipment and provide hands-on education on how to use their new range. Physical assembly throughout the visit is required. Expect to travel up to 120 days a year and throughout the United States.
Your secondary role will be working directly with the development team testing out new software and hardware – making sure our products are bulletproof (literally and figuratively) before they go to production. You’ll have your chance to inject your feedback and ideas into our products, making them better before our customers ever see them.
This position will have many other smaller responsibilities – you should be ready to work in a dynamic environment that’s focused on customer satisfaction and mutual team member support. Configuring linux servers, assembling EST units, packing and shipping orders, and working directly with customers are just a few of these smaller roles you’ll take on.
Our offices are in Manassas, VA. When not traveling, you’ll have the flexibility to work either in the office or a hybrid schedule, working remotely a few days a week.
Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for a mechanically inclined technician who enjoys taking on multiple roles within a small company. A bachelors or associates degree in a STEM related field is desired. Knowledge of the shooting sports is preferred. We value a demonstrable history of attention to detail and ability to learn over any specific computer related skill. Yes, it is helpful to know Linux, but it is more important to know how to work independently and troubleshoot computer related issues.
We’re seeking someone who can fit in with our small dynamic team. Motivated by the challenge of working on different projects but with the common company goal of advancing the shooting sports. Someone who’s not afraid to “get their hands dirty” doing the small things that make the difference between a good customer experience and a polished professional customer experience. Someone who can learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements. Most importantly someone who has a positive attitude and seeks to build up their team through constructive ideas and feedback.
Salary and Benefits:
We pay our technicians $50k - $80k depending on experience and impact. We offer 100% paid health insurance, a Simple IRA plan with matching contributions, continued education, life insurance, a generous paid time off plan that includes the last week in December, and a relocation allowance if you live outside the area.
How to Apply:
Send your resume and cover letter to jobs@scopos.tech. We’d love to hear about your background, the technology you have learned, and the projects you helped make a success. Tell us why you would fit into our development team and what motivates you the most.
We’ll conduct screening interviews for promising candidates, followed by a video interview with the hiring manager, and if all goes well a longer on-site interview with the team.

Your role on our team:
We’re hiring an entry level software engineer who wants to make a difference in the shooting sports.
Our complete system, Orion, Athena, and Rezults, is a pretty diverse distributed system, encompassing solutions such as cloud computing, Internet of Things, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. In time, and depending on how best you work, you’ll have the opportunity to either become an expert in one part of our system, or grow to be able to work on almost any component of our system.
To start though, we will pair you with a mentor, another full time engineer on our team. Working with them, you'll learn about the different parts of our system and foster your skills as a software engineer. We’ll give you a chance to work on projects from those different parts of our system. Here are just a few examples of the types of projects we’ve worked on in the past year that one day you may be able to expand on:
Since we value growth and ingenuity you’ll get the chance to continue your education and try out new technologies. We are particularly interested in new ideas, new technologies, to enhance our products and make the shooting sports better.

Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for an entry level software engineer, right out of college or just a year or two removed. A bachelors in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is important. We value motivation over any specific computer science skill. Yes, it is helpful to know C# or Python, the two languages we work in, but it is more important to want to make a difference in the shooting sports and to grow to learn the skills to make that difference.
Have you ever thought about how you can use technology to help the sport? Let us know, you might just get a chance to do so.

Someone who is motivated by goals not by deadlines (yes that’s right, we don’t believe in deadlines whenever possible). Someone who’s ready to share their expertise and background. And most importantly someone who has a positive attitude and seeks to build up their team through constructive ideas and feedback.
