This month’s newsletter is dedicated to small settings that have a big impact on your printed results. Even in the era of online results, a technology that Scopos leads, physically printing results is still a best practice, and many athletes still enjoy a physical print out of their individual results. Did you know though you have options to customize these printouts? Read more to learn how.
Event Type on Individual Score Reports
Individual score sheets are a printout of an athlete's scores and includes both graphical shot groups and shot group analysis. When you go to print these score sheets you can choose to list scores and shot graphs by Stage, Strings, or Series (the available options differ depending on the specific course of fire).
Take
a 3x20 for example. When you print the score sheet using Stages, three
shot graphs are displayed, one for each stage, Kneeling, Prone, and
Standing. Displayed below is the kneeling stage.
When you select String, six shot graphs are displayed, one for each ten shot string in the match, KN 1, KN 2, PR 1, PR 2, ST 1, and ST 2. Displayed below are the same shots but represented in two graphs, one for each string.
Both options have value to the athlete, and it's your choice which one to print.
Page Size on Result Lists
On many result lists, Orion will print more or fewer data columns depending on the width of the physical page. This is also true on Rezults, with respect to screen width. Take for example an Air Rifle Final. When printed in portrait (the default) only the sum elimination score is displayed.
In the same match, when printed in landscape, each elimination series score is printed instead.
The precise columns displayed, depend on the course of fire and result list format definition.
Demographic Line
Orion 2.25 also introduces a new customization option for Match Directors; a demographic line displayed beneath each participant’s name in the Result List.
Match Directors may choose from 25 different fields, including Competitor Number, Hometown, Club, Coach, and more. The demographic line uses string interpolation, allowing Match Directors to craft personalized formats. Examples include:
- Demographic Text: Representing {Club} from {Hometown}
Displays as: Representing West Potomac from Alexandria, VA - Demographic Text: Bib: {CompetitorNumber}, Club: {Club}, Coach: {Coach}
Displays as: Bib: 1234, Club: West Potomac, Coach Julie Sanchez
The demographic line is optional and can be configured separately for individual and team events. A full list of available fields is provided on Scopos’s support website.
With the new demographic text line, Match Directors have control over what information to share on printed result lists.
