If your club has plans to expand your range this year, consider the MidwayUSA Foundation's Range Development Grant program. The MidwayUSA Foundation is one of the biggest sources of funding to youth shooting programs in the country.
MidwayUSA Foundation
While the MidwayUSA Foundation has multiple grant programs available,
the Team and Range Development Grants are their primary programs to
support youth teams and clubs. In 2025 alone, the Range Development
Grant provided in excess of $3.5 million to over 120 youth programs across the country to develop and improve their ranges. This was a 57% increase in funding over the previous year!
These grants can provide up to 50% of the funding of an
organization's total project budget. In most cases, participating
organizations for the Range Development Grant must hold a funded Team or
Agency Endowment or have a Direct Relationship with a Team or Agency
Endowment holder. Applications are open now through April 1. For more information and to apply, visit the MidwayUSA Foundation website.
Other Funding for Youth Programs
Another effective way of sourcing funding is through approaching your club leaders. Electronic Scoring Targets are a concept they may not be familiar with, so we have created a presentation available for coach's utilization that will outline the functionality and benefits of an EST system. The presentation may be accessed below.
Some clubs have seen great success with running special events such as special matches, raffles, etc that are open to their local community. One Athena for Clubs customer has held "bench matches", which we reported on in a previous article. These events are great for fundraising, involving the local community, and having fun. Read more about their story below.
Friends of the NRA, through the NRA Foundation, has long been a supporter of youth shooting programs that also has a yearly grant program which awards millions to organizations for their equipment, etc. Applications for their 2026 cycle open on August 4.
