Revisiting the Result List Axiom

Revisiting the Result List Axiom

Last summer we introduced the Result List Axiom, a basic set of rules that all shooting competitions should follow to engage spectators. By adhering to these basic standards, competitions are more entertaining, competitive, and engaging. Without them shooting remains in the dark ages of sports.

While our competitors scramble to catch up, Scopos customers are enjoying the benefit of our state of the art result list technology. At competitions managed by Scopos software, athletes, coaches, and spectators are enjoying:

  • Mobile-friendly online results
  • Predictive competitor rankings
  • Automated and live rankings
  • On-premise leaderboards
  • Comprehensive ranking rules

Scopos software allows the same results to be available on premise and online. Spectators at home or on the range can see who is winning.

The Result List Axiom, the basic set of rules that all competitions should follow, states that Result Lists should be presented to spectators such that:

  1. Result lists should be live, automated, and available both on-premise and online.

  2. Rank athletes and teams according to their predicted scores during the competition.

  3. Provide a final ranking immediately after the last shot with athletes ranked according to all appropriate rules.

The Result List Axiom is only the basic set of rules that competitions should follow. Since its release last summer, Scopos has been working hard developing new tools to enhance the spectator experience. Look for these in the upcoming Orion and Athena enhancement release.

Every competition should have a dynamically updated leaderboard, ranking athletes and teams. Scopos customers enjoy this fundamental tool.
