With week 2 of the National Air Rifle League behind us, there looks to be some stiff competition setting up. For example, in the Sporter League, 14 teams are currently averaging over 1100. Zion Benton NJROTC currently sits in the lead of the Sporter League.
The second week of the league was again highlighted by a random schedule, with an emphasis on both inter-division and inter-conference play. Starting with this week, teams are now squadded against other teams of similar skill level. This will mean more close games with either team having a chance to earn the win each week.
Shooting Week 2's highest score in the Sporter League, North Brunswick printed a 1161.1 to defeat Austin E Lathrop. Notably, this is higher than any score North Brunswick shot in the 2023 League. They currently sit in 3rd place and will face Northridge MCJROTC this week.
In a Junior Rifle Club showdown, Trigger Time 4-H Shooting Education Club defeated American Legion Post 72 with an 1105.5. Trigger Time 4-H currently sits among 13 other Sporter League teams with an 1100+ average. This week they will compete against Bradley Central AJROTC.
C.T. Johnson kept their 2-0 record this season with a 2390.9 against Vilseck AJROTC. They currently sit in 6th place, but are less than 1 point behind both Lafayette Gun Club and Sutter Union High School. This week they will face off against Robinson Rifle Team.
