The National Air Pistol League is a national team league for clubs throughout the United States. Over 10 weeks each team competes in 8 virtual games, one game each week, with two bye weeks in the season. Each week, each team in the league is paired with another team with a near equal skill level. The teams compete at their home ranges, with the scores merged together online on Scopos' Result Center.
In each game the teams compete in a 60 shot air pistol match. This competition is identical to the Air Pistol events in the Olympic games. Each athlete shoots 60 shots, with each shot worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 60 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
The National Air Pistol League is sponsored by Scopos, makers of the Orion Scoring System and the Athena Electronic Scoring Target, located in Manasass, VA. They may be reached at support@scopos.tech or +1 703.596.0099. Scopos' website is at www.scopos.tech.
