The 2024 Scopos National New Shooter and Air Pistol Leagues have now reached the midway point, having passed through 5 weeks of competition. In the Air Pistol League, things are a toss up between the top teams and could change any week. In the New Shooter League, Jack C. Hays MCJROTC has held first place for several weeks, with the places just under them remaining in close competition.

Stony Point High School collected their third win of the season, defeating Kelly Walsh MCJROTC. Stony Point shot their highest score so far of the season, a 1049.9. This week, Stony Point will match up with Pueblo County AJROTC and Kelly Walsh will see Daniel Boone MCJROTC. Stony Point is steadily in 4th, with several teams, including Lemoore NJROTC, close behind.
Lemoore NJROTC rendered their fourth win of the season, remaining undefeated yet, after their match with ILTexas Katy Westpark High School. The match was decided by just under 3 points. Lemoore now sits in 6th place, where places 4 through 7 are separated by only a 2.5 point spread. Lemoore will have a bye week this week.
Week 5 saw Caney Creek NJROTC's second win, this time against U.S. Grant MCJROTC. This week, Caney Creek will compete against Georgetown NCJROTC and U.S. Grant will face ILTexas Katy Westpark High School.
Garnering their third win of the season, Grand Rapids Rifle and Pistol Club defeated South County Rod and Gun Club in Week 5. Currently in 5th place, Grand Rapids is also the only team in the Air Pistol League that has competed in 5 matches so far. This week will be their first bye, while South County Rod and Gun Club will face off against NoVA Sharpshooters.
