In the Air Pistol League, NoVA Sharpshooters are keeping a firm grip on their lead, with a 71 point lead over Cos Cob Revolver and Rifle Club. Last week's match between Cos Cob and Lafayette Gun club allowed Cos Cob to stay in 2nd place with a bit of a lead.
In the New Shooter League, Fontana MCJROTC hold the 1st place spot by a 55 point margin. Their average score of this season is an impressive 36 points higher than last season's winners Jack C. Hays MCJROTC. 2nd through 5th places in the New Shooter League are separated by just over 10 points, so things could go any direction.
In 2nd place in the New Shooter League, Martin Luther King NJROTC defeated 10th place team Summerlin Academy AJROTC last week. MLK NJROTC now holds a 5 - 0 record along with the 1st and 3rd place teams in the New Shooter League. This week, MLK NJROTC will shoot off against 4th place team McMichael AFJROTC.
Georgetown NJROTC moved closer to the top 10 after last week, landing themselves in 11th place in the New Shooter League after defeating Mariner AJROTC. Georgetown now sports an impressive 5 - 0 record held by only a few other teams in the New Shooter League so far, including all top 3 teams. Last season, Georgetown finished in 10th place with a 5 - 2 record, so they surely have the potential to move up from there this season. Georgetown will have a bye this week.
In one of the closest matches of last week, 2nd place Air Pistol team Cos Cob Revolver and Rifle Club defeated 3rd place Lafayette Gun Club by just 1 point, 2122 - 22 to 2121 - 25. This win helps Cos Cob stay in 2nd place with a 23 point lead over Lafayette. This week, Cos Cob will shoot off against 4th place team Palmyra Sportmen's Association and Lafayette will have a bye week.
